Regulation Panel

Operators can set Outrider’s Regulation Panel to provide an outlet pressure ranging between 3600 - 40 psi depending on project specs. Safe and easy to use, the Regulation Panel was designed to keep gas flowing in any conditions.

How It Works

Outrider’s Regulation Panel reduces pressure through a series of cuts as described in the flow process below:

Cylinder Pressure: Gas is stored in the cylinders at 3,600 psi. It then leaves the cylinders at 3,600 psi through Outrider’s manifold and control panel.

First Pressure Cut: The first cut provides redundancy via three Fisher 1301G regulators – each on a separate run with isolation valves. Depending on project specs, operators can reduce pressure down to a range of 500 – 200 psi. If Joule–Thomson effect freezes up a regulator on one run, isolate it and move to the 1301G regulator on the next run to keep gas flowing.

Second Pressure Cut: The second cut consists of two Fisher 627 regulators, again providing redundancy the operator may need to work around Joule–Thomson effect. Opening either 627 regulator allows for an outlet pressure range of 50 – 5 psi based on the operator’s pressure needs.

Trailer Outlet: The gas coming out of the 627 regulator goes into 1” steel pipe that terminates with a 1” female NPT connection. The operator connects a hose that is fed through the hose door to push gas from the trailer to the operator’s nearby infrastructure. The operator can then secure, lock and leave the trailer if needed.

Built-in Relief: As an important safety measure, if set pressure limits are exceeded at any point in the flow process, relief valves are activated. Outrider’s Regulation Panel includes a Taylor relief in the first cut and a Fisher 289HH relief in second cut that are locked open. Both reliefs vent gas through the roof, up and away from the operator.

Additional Outlet Ports: If needed, the operator can access 2 additional outlet ports via needle vales. The first has an outlet pressure of 3,600 psi and is located before the first cut 1301Gs. The second port is located between the first and second cuts (after 1301Gs and before 627 regulators) and allows for an outlet pressure range of 500 -200 psi.

Features & Specifications

Overcoming the Joule–Thomson Effect with Redundancy
Designing multiple runs into each stage of pressure cuts allows the operator to work around the Joule–Thomson effect. If one regulator freezes up, isolate it and move to the next run to keep gas flowing.

Quick Regulator Changeouts
Have you ever needed to change out a 1301G that is tubed in a straight line? It is difficult at best, which is why Outrider drops down the 1301G regulators in the first cut. This allows for easier access and quicker changeouts.

Optionality
When unforeseen challenges occur, it is good to have options. Outrider added outlet valves to its Regulation Panel to allow the operator to access gas at 3,600 psi and a midpoint access valve providing an outlet pressure as low as 200 psi. Being able to test your gas at different stages of the process is critical and it is why Outrider included seven test ports in its design.

Accessibility
The Regulation Panel’s open, skeletal design gives the operator easy access to cylinders, tank head valves and PRDs. Its modular design allows Outrider’s Regulation Panel to be easily removed and re-installed if needed.
